Welcome to my life!
First, I have to express my true and heartfelt excitement to be spending the year with your child. My students are my entire world and I have grown to be open to learning so much about life, love, and happiness from each child. I consider myself sincerely grateful to spend time with what becomes my classroom family.
I am a huge proponent of social justice, equality in education, and building strong relationships with each child in my room. I do my best to foster a creative environment in which students can grow and develop into who he or she chooses to become in their own time. It is important for each child to have their own voice and learn to use it constructively and positively. |
In my free time, I enjoy finding new music and creating my own, I love running and hiking trails at the Whitewater Center or Crowder's Mountain, I love working my second job at Run For Your Life (come see me and say hi!), and I truly love spending time with my closest friends and family. I believe they have shaped me into the person I am today!
My family consists of two younger brothers and a mother and father. My middle brother, Michael, is the Director of Operations for the Women's Track and Field Team at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. My youngest brother David is hard at work as a full-time intern for the Burlington Royals Rookie Baseball League and as an employee at a local car wash! I come from a HUGE Mexican-Irish family based out of New Jersey and Texas and I am grateful for each one of them. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow while enrolled. My passion for education grew as I experienced time in other classrooms and was able to interact with so many unique children. My love of education started there and I wouldn't have it any other way. |
If you were ever curious to take a sneak peek into my classroom, check out the links below! My students and I were lucky enough to be interviewed and filmed (and, trust me, we had SO much fun doing it!) during a day in our classes. I am so excited to put love, creativity, and passion into my classroom this year!
